Knowledge Base / Network / Limited or No Network Access
Problem
Practical checks for limited or no network access. Follow the safe steps below and contact your support team if the issue continues.
These are general troubleshooting checks, not a confirmed diagnosis. Follow your organization's procedures and stop if a step could risk data, safety, or managed equipment.
Symptoms to check
- The expected action does not complete, or an error appears.
- The problem may affect one item or several devices, users, or files.
Possible causes
- The local device, Wi-Fi or wired link, name resolution, gateway, remote service, or network policy may be involved.
- An outage, address conflict, signal interference, or recent configuration change may contribute.
Resolution
- Check whether other sites or services work and whether the issue affects one device or multiple users. Record the time, network name, and exact error.
- For Limited or No Network Access, confirm the device is connected to the intended approved network and check Wi-Fi signal or Ethernet link indicators. Do not share passwords or sensitive network details.
- If permitted, disconnect and reconnect the affected device, then restart it once. Check the organization's service-status or outage notices before changing settings.
- Use built-in network diagnostics and capture their results. Do not disable a firewall, bypass access controls, factory-reset a router, or change managed network settings without authorization.
- If several users are affected or the issue persists, send support the scope, time, error, connection type, and diagnostics results so an administrator can check the network path.
Prevention and preparation
- Use approved networks and keep device network software current.
- Report outages with the affected location, time, devices, and exact error; avoid changing managed equipment without approval.
